A Clinical Study on the Whitening Effect of the Newly Developed Skin-booster from Soybean Isoflavone Extract

Abstract

Background and Objectives
Skinboosters are used for various purposes, such as for regenerating, moisturizing, and whitening skin. Their types are also increasing. The recently developed soybean isoflavone-based skinbooster has anti-melanosis and anti-inflammatory effects, and expectations regarding its whitening effect are high.
Materials and Methods
A clinical study was conducted with six patients. Since the isoflavone-based skinbooster is licensed as a cosmetic product, it was penetrated into the skin using the NOVO jet, a needleless injector, following a short-distance spraying method. The researchers evaluated skin tone and skin quality improvement before and after the procedure by comparing “before” and “after” pictures. Subjective skin whitening improvement felt by the patients and evaluator was evaluated using the global aesthetic improvement score (GAIS).
Results
The researchers judged that skin tone improved in five out of six patients (83.4%), and skin quality improved in four out of six (66.7%). The average final GAIS score evaluated by the researchers was 2.5 points, and the average GAIS score of the patients was 2.83 points.
Conclusion
A treatment method in which the isoflavone-based skinbooster is non-invasively penetrated into the skin using a needleless injector cosmetic device is likely to be recognized as a safe and effective skin whitening treatment.
